Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Group Expense with Ease ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by BeeSolve s.r.o., a company established in the European Union. You can reach us via our GitHub issue tracker or through Ko-fi.

2. What the Service does

The Service helps you and your friends keep track of shared expenses and the resulting debts. It lets you create groups, add expenses, split them between members, and simplify who owes whom.

The Service is not a payment processor. It does not move, hold, or transfer money. All real-world payments happen directly between you and the people you share expenses with. Any payment information you add (such as an IBAN) is shown to your group members purely for their convenience; we are not involved in and are not responsible for any payment made between users.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• You sign in using a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure.
• You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for the accuracy of the information you enter.

4. Free of charge

The Service is provided free of charge. There are no ads and no paid tiers. Donations (for example through Ko-fi) are entirely voluntary, are not a payment for the Service, and do not grant any additional features or guarantees.

5. Usage limits

To keep the Service sustainable and cost-effective, each user may own up to 25 active groups at a time (the groups you create). Being a member of groups owned by other people is not limited. Archived groups do not count toward this limit. Archived groups are automatically deleted after approximately three months; you can download an archived group's data before it is deleted.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
• upload unlawful, abusive, or infringing content, including in names or descriptions;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
• use the Service to harass other users or to misrepresent your identity.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that breach these Terms or that put the Service or other users at risk.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the data you enter (groups, expenses, names, and payment information). You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process that data in order to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any information you add about other people.

8. Availability and changes

We try to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and we may update these Terms. When we update the Terms we will revise the "Last updated" date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. The debt calculations and summaries are provided for convenience only and are not financial advice; you are responsible for verifying amounts before settling with your friends.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BeeSolve s.r.o. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from payments made or not made between users. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited under applicable mandatory law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which BeeSolve s.r.o. is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you reside.
